    13 Uses of Therapeutic Organic Lavender Essential Oil

    1. Calming

    Rub 2-3 drops of lavender oil in your cupped palms, inhale to draw the scent all the way into your amygdala gland in your brain to calm the mind. Then, rub on the feet, temples, wrists or anywhere for an immediate calming effect on the body. Great for use in crowded areas like planes or subways.


    2. Insomnia

    Put 3-4 drops of Lavender oil on your pillow to help you sleep.


    3. Nausea or motion sickness

    Place a drop of organic Lavender oil on end of tongue, behind the ears or around the navel.


    4. Insect repellent

    Add 15 drops of organic lavender oil to olive oil or coconut oil and rub on to your arms and legs for a great insect repellent.


    5. Bee sting / Insect bite

    Put a drop of Lavender oil on a bee sting or insect bite to stop itching reduce swelling.


    6. Minor burns and cuts

    Put 2-3 drops Lavender oil on a minor burns or cuts to decrease pain.


    7. Eczema / Dermatitis

    Mix 10 drops of Lavender oil with one table spoon (15ml) vegetable oil (coconut, almond, etc) and use topically on eczema and dermatitis. Or add a few drops of organic lavender oil to calamine lotion, shake before use. Apply alternately with organic tea tree oil.


    8. To soften dry cuticles Mix in a bottle:
    • 2 tables spoon olive oil
    • 10 drops organic tea tree oil
    • 10 drops organic lavender oil
    Shake bottle well, then massage a few drops into your nails and cuticles daily to soften them and prevent them from splitting.

    9. Menstrual Cramps

    Massage a few drops of lavender oil into your lower abdomen or apply a hot compress onto the area.


    10. Flavor booster

    Add a few drops of organic lavender essential oil to any recipe you want to enhance. Add to your water or tea (especially sparkling!), brownies, bars, cookies, dessert recipes, raw chocolate or salad dressings. Enjoy!


    11. Sunburn

    Spray pure Lavender Mist – Hydrosol directly onto the skin or Add 8 drops of lavender oil and 4 drops of peppermint oil to a teaspoon of jojoba oil. Pour it into a cool-to-lukewarm bath and soak for 10 minutes.


    12. Long-Haul Travel

    Add 5 drops of lavender into your hand luggage and roll it over your pulse points to help you keep a clear head during those endless hours in the air.


    13. To treat yeast infection Experience has shown that the combination of organic tea tree oil and organic lavender oil can be very effective if the skin has been infected with yeast.

    Prepare a mix of:
    • 5 drops tea tree oil
    • 5 drops lavender oil
    • 10 ml coconut oil
    Use a cotton swab and dab the blend on the problem parts of the body.
